Planning is underway for the spring events this year! Check the calender for events we will be at and when we need volunteers!

We officially are part of the Davis Farmers Market and had our first monthly table on February 18th. (We will have a table on the third Saturday of each month.)
It was a good first time out for us with 16 people dropping by the table and one speaker's request generated.
Volunteers have signed up to staff our table on March 17th and April 21st. If you are able to volunteer for either shift on May 19th (7:00 - 10:-15 or

During the week prior to each market when Heifer will have a table, Susan Rumberg will send a reminder to all volunteers scheduled for the two shifts.
Please contact Susan Rumberg (susanrumberg1@earthlink.net) if you have any questions about the Farmers Market. Many thanks!
III. Out-of-the-ordinary events
Next meeting we’ll hear about how it went when Sue Bennett did an event at UCDavis on March 8th. It was actually a career "speed-dating" event for freshmen to interest them in career paths as they plan their college careers. Sue had some good input from Eliza re slanting materials and how to structure the 10-minute Q & A sessions.
Laurie Heller’s application has been accepted to go to the Heifer U for College and University Faculty and staff conference in late May. She’s interested because it would help her develop a targeted presentation for college youth.
IV. Other groups’ events
Heifer Sonoma is doing a “Spring Into Action” event on Saturday March 24. The venue is unique: Cornerstone Sonoma, 23570 Arnold Drive / Hwy 121 – check it out at www.cornerstonesonoma.com Any of us are invited to take part and perhaps get ideas for our own spring event next year.
The Concord United Methodist Church is holding a Bike-a-thon in support of Heifer during the weekend of May 5/6 – right on our very own American River bike trail. Cheryl will contact the organizers about it.
